Marc RowlandMarc Rowland

Marc Rowland is the Founder & Senior Managing Director of IOG Capital, LP and is CEO of IOG Resources, LLC. Mr. Rowland leads the companies’ investment team through his 40+ years of experience in the oil & gas upstream and midstream industry.

Mr. Rowland is a seasoned oil and gas corporate executive, director, and investment manager with over 40 years of experience in all aspects of upstream and midstream business segments. Mr. Rowland is considered a leading industry expert in energy mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, public securities transactions, and derivatives facilities. He has won numerous awards for transactions and has received recognition by Institutional Investor as Energy CFO of the Year.

Mr. Rowland is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Chesapeake Energy Corporation, where he led the Company from its IPO in 1993 to a $40+ billion market cap oil and gas producer for 18 years. Notable financial achievements included numerous billions of volumetric production payments, internationally financed shale joint ventures, all varieties of securities issuances including the first Euro-denominated bond financing for a US only oil and gas company, and the successful IPO of Chesapeake Midstream Partners, LP in August of 2010.

Mr. Rowland served as the Chief Executive Officer at FTS International, Inc. (formerly Frac Tech International, LLC) from May 2011- November 2012, and as the President and Chief Financial Officer of Frac Tech Services, LLC and Frac Tech International, LLC from November 2010 to May 2011. Mr. Rowland served as the Chief Financial Officer or equivalent positions of Chesapeake Energy Corporation from 1993, when the company became publicly traded, until October 2010. Mr. Rowland served as Chief Operating Officer of Anglo-Suisse, LP from 1990 to 1992 where he was assigned to the White Nights Russian Enterprise, a joint venture of Anglo-Suisse, LP and Phibro Energy Corporation, a major foreign operation which was granted the right to engage in oil and gas operations in Russia.

Mr. Rowland serves on a number of private and public boards, including as Chairman of the Board for SilverBow Resources (NYSE: SBOW). He is a 1975 alumnus of Wichita State University where he currently serves as a member of the Investment Committee.

Charlie ShufeldtCharlie Shufeldt

Charlie Shufeldt is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of IOG Capital, LP and President of IOG Resources, LLC. Prior to forming IOG Capital, Mr. Shufeldt was a Senior Analyst at HBK Capital Management, an $11 billion multi-strategy hedge fund, where he managed a portfolio of private and public oil and gas investments. He began his career in the Equity Capital Markets group at Banc of America Securities where he worked with small public and private companies helping them raise private equity capital.

Mr. Shufeldt serves as a Member of Stanford University’s Petroleum Investments Committee (PIC), an Advisory Board Member of the Baylor Healthcare System Foundation, as well as the Board of the Friends of the Katy Trail where he is a member of the Executive and Finance committees. Charlie is an active member of the Dallas Petroleum Club where he is involved in the Dallas Wildcat Committee. He is a member of YPO, Benchmark Bank’s Private Wealth Management Advisory Council, IPAA, and Dallas ADAM Energy Forum. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and a 2002 alumnus of Stanford University.

Noam BerkNoam Berk

Noam Berk is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of IOG Capital, LP and serves as EVP of IOG Resources, LLC. Mr. Berk has 20 years of experience in energy-focused finance, and he is a specialist in large structured transactions centered around commodities, derivatives, volumetric production payments, and multibillion-dollar hedging facilities. Prior to joining IOG, Noam was Managing Director at Dean Street Capital Advisors, specializing in advisory work for natural resource producers and investors. Before founding Dean Street, he was Commodities Director at Merrill Lynch between 2006-2008, and a Director at Deutsche Bank between 1997-2006.

Mr. Berk is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and Hebrew. He earned his MBA in Finance from Columbia University Business School, an M.A. in History from UNC-Chapel Hill, and completed his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University.

Tommy WoolleyTommy Woolley

Tommy Woolley is a Managing Director of IOG Capital, LP. Mr. Woolley has over 15 years of industry experience as a petroleum engineer. Prior to joining IOG, he was a Vice President of Energy Spectrum in their financial advisory business and upstream private equity funds. Prior to joining Energy Spectrum in 2011, Mr. Woolley spent 5 years as a reservoir engineering consultant at Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc. Mr. Woolley began his career as a reservoir engineer for BP in Houston and then Alaska.

Mr. Woolley received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University. He is registered in the state of Texas as a Professional Engineer (P.E.), and also a member of the SPE.

James DeanJames Dean

James Dean is the Senior Vice President of Engineering at IOG Capital, LP. With over 20 years of industry experience as a petroleum engineer across the onshore US, Gulf of Mexico, and Alaska, Mr. Dean’s experience covers reservoir engineering, drilling and completions, and production engineering.

Prior to joining IOG Capital, he was an engineering supervisor for BP in Alaska overseeing an integrated field development team. Mr. Dean also spent several years at Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc. as a consulting reservoir engineer responsible for oil and gas property evaluations both domestically and internationally.

Mr. Dean earned his degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and an active member in the SPE.

Jay HeathJay Heath

Jay Heath is the Chief Financial Officer of IOG Capital LP, and all of its oil and gas investments. Prior to joining IOG Capital in 2016, he was the Controller of Willow Bend Oil, a Kayne Anderson Private Equity Investment. Mr. Heath started his career at Ernst & Young in their Dallas audit and transaction advisory practices.

Mr. Heath received a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy from Baylor University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

George EdwardsGeorge Edwards

George Edwards is Vice President of IOG Capital, LP where he’s responsible for supporting the firm’s origination, analysis, structuring, and execution of investments. Prior to joining IOG, he was a Senior Analyst in the Corporate Finance group at EXCO Resources, Inc. and focused on capital markets, acquisitions and divestitures, hedging, and investor relations. Mr. Edwards began his career as a CPA in KPMG’s audit practice.

Mr. Edwards is a member of the Dallas Petroleum Club, the TouchDown Club, which is a fundraising group supporting the Rise School of Dallas, and he serves on the Session and Finance Committee at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Dallas. He earned his B.B.A in Accounting and M.S. in Accounting from Southern Methodist University.

Ed MelloEd Mello

With over 10 years of experience as a multi-dimensional landman, Ed Mello serves as Manager of Land and Legal for IOG Capital, LP. Prior to joining IOG, Mr. Mello served as a Senior Project Manager at Holland Land Services, overseeing abstracting, title curative, land due diligence, and leasing projects throughout the United States. Mr. Mello began his career as an independent landman and previously owned and operated a land services brokerage serving small and large independents, family offices, and financial institutions.

Mr. Mello earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law, and he is a Certified Professional Landman (CPL).

Michael ArnoldMichael Arnold

Michael Arnold is Vice President of IOG Capital, LP and is responsible for firm operations, investor relations, and compliance. Prior to joining IOG, he served as Vice President of Basset Capital Management, LLC (the managing entity of Infinity Resources II), a privately held oil and gas investment firm. While at Basset, he led investment due diligence and investor relations. Preceding Basset, Mr. Arnold held numerous commercial management roles at British Airways Plc in both the United States and United Kingdom.

Mr. Arnold is highly engaged with his alma mater, Franklin & Marshall College. A former trustee, he currently serves as National Vice Chairman of the Franklin & Marshall Fund and the College Endowment Investment Committee.

Mr. Arnold is a member of the Dallas Petroleum Club, Dallas Chapter of Young Professionals in Energy, and the DMA Junior Associates. He is a 2008 alumnus of Franklin & Marshall College and holds a Graduate Finance Certificate from Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business.
