Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Policy

IOG believes that attention to socially responsible investing (SRI) is an essential component of the overall success of the firm, which includes value creation for its investors, our reputation, and the benefit of the communities that receive our capital.

As an energy investor focused exclusively onshore in the United States, we believe our investments contribute to the progress of domestic energy independence, security, and job creation. For us to achieve our goal of benchmark-beating annualized returns on a consistent basis, the firm must promote an internal Environmental, Social, and Governance Policy (ESG) that is appropriate for our strategy and mandate.

IOG believes that safe and responsible operations have a direct correlation to the success of a given investment. Therefore, our underwriting process for all investments includes a comprehensive risk assessment of a given project’s potential environmental impact. As a non-operated financial partner, it is essential for our analysis to focus on the merits and track record of an underlying asset operator. This review includes a review of their historical operations, regulatory sanctions, and reputation.

IOG believes that people are the cornerstone of our professional and personal lives. This is why those impacted by our activities will always be treated fairly and without prejudice to their gender, age, race, national origin, socio-economic status, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.

IOG’s team of professionals have an obligation to comply with the ethical standards defined in the firm’s employee handbook.

IOG will always seek to meet or exceed compliance with applicable environmental regulatory requirements and law.

IOG believes that transparency is an essential part of corporate governance. As such, IOG’s internal culture will always promote an open dialogue among our team and incentivize team members to provide timely and accurate information to all external stakeholders. Additionally, all employees are required to take responsibility for the implementation and enforcement of the firm’s Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) Compliance Program.

IOG and our associated entities shall seek to ensure that business practices comply fully with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
