Firm Overview:
IOG Capital, LP is a Dallas, Texas-based investment firm specializing in sourcing and managing non-operated upstream properties acquired through structured joint ventures or outright purchase. IOG has invested >$900mm across 30+ transactions and has assets in most major unconventional basins.

Description:
The Associate will support deal evaluation, diligence, execution, monitoring and reporting. Specific responsibilities will include:

Evaluation:
• Maintain deal pipeline to track evaluation of new opportunities
• Assess opportunities based on operator experience, size, and risk parameters
• Understand drivers of single well economics and run/manipulate bottoms up financial model under various structures
• Review and analyze development plans and well proposals in conjunction with technical team

Due Diligence:
• Analyze historical cost structure and commercial assumptions to inform forecasts
• Quantify impact of gathering, processing, and firm transportation contracts

Execution:
• Prepare investment presentation materials for all stakeholders
• Assist in preparation of definitive documentation
• Manage co-investor evaluation process

Monitoring:
• Maintain dynamic corporate model used for monthly budgeting and financial projections
• Assist in the quarterly valuation process
• Prepare quarterly Board presentation materials
• Prepare information for management and investors on investment performance

Other key responsibilities:
• Create and maintain various financial models
• Assist in managing relationship with commercial/investment banks and other partners
• Responsible for all hedging (planning, trading, administration, monitoring)
• Engage with industry partners to source opportunities
• Work with partners and stakeholders for ad-hoc requests

Candidate Requirements:

  • 2 – 3 years Energy Investment Banking experience (E&P focus preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Ability to think independently and provide sound, practical solutions to problems
  • High proficiency in variety of energy related software tools (technology oriented in general)
  • Strong work ethic and a diligent, responsible personality
